Clean ship

Dutch officials inspected the MV Hondius and gave the green light. 'From a public health perspective, there are no more obstacles,' the Rotterdam Port authority stated.

Experts confirmed: the ship has been cleaned effectively. Disinfection followed all guidelines.

Owner Oceanwide Expeditions announced: the Hondius will sail on June 13. Cruises will resume as scheduled.

But the bitterness remains. Three deaths on one ship — that is serious. How safe will the next voyages be?

The company promises enhanced medical screening on board. But no one gives guarantees. The virus is insidious and hard to detect before symptoms appear.
