Numbers as of May 21

ECDC published updated data. 11 cases — 9 confirmed and 2 probable. Three people have died.

The good news: no new cases. The situation has stabilized.

Ship in quarantine

The MV Hondius has been docked in Rotterdam since May 18. Full sanitation is underway. No one leaves without permission.

Risk for the EU population is assessed as very low. Andes virus can spread person-to-person, but only through prolonged contact.

But there is a catch. The incubation period is up to 6 weeks. New cases could appear at any moment. We are watching the situation closely.
